Most of my rewarding journeys have started with a steep ascent – whether it was the plane taking off to magically transport me to the US for my Californian road trip, or the immediate 800m climbs on our Swiss mountain hikes. This Voyage was no different – it needed to reach V2 for takeoff.
However, I was drifting, going around in circles, going off piste, not following the map. On my favorite walk (again another future blog post) I had a brainwave – let’s make this November one to Remember. Late October was becoming soggy and grey. The brilliant colors of autumn were fading, the temperatures were dropping, the fog was rolling in and my spirits were depleting. Ok, so let’s raise these spirits, get focused and gather momentum. Let me share my story daily on Instagram to generate some sort of accountability – and at the same time to use the regular postings to gather some data on Instagram and this infamous mysterious algorithm (you guessed it – I’m a closet data analytic geek – and to be sure the topic of another future blog post!)
During December I will blog about my experience of Remember November. I will share my key takeaways, my triumphs and my next steps into this wonderful world of The Voyage.
As a teaser, today I share 5 of my Remember November takeaways with the top 5 in the next article.
- don’t hesitate to invest in tools and training
- truly no question is too stupid to ask – keep asking
- don’t be fearful of the numerous and crisscrossing paths on the map, embrace them
- recognize your strengths and keep strengthening them
- do, do, and do. Less talk – and more intentional activity
And a bonus takeaway –
- keep a good stock of chocolate to hand!
